Some days she’ll laugh it off. Other times she’ll smack him lightly with her staff calling him an idiot, and during those brief instances, he’ll see a glimpse of her old fire. But on the days where she hides in her room, her body too wracked with pain to move, he is reminded of his helplessness.
It tears at him to watch her body fade, to see her heart slowly fray and crumble under the strain of maintaining Sindria’s barrier. His anger and resentment towards magic only grew with each spell and enchantment cast, driving her deeper into a dark spiraling abyss.
It’s all he can do to hold her close as this beautiful young woman who won him over with her spirit, murmurs soothingly into his ear.
